Historical Note | William Edgar Poole (aka "Bill," "Ed" or "Edgar") was born September 24, 1908 at a tiny farmstead named "Brandlingill" in Papcastle, Cockermouth, Cumberland County, England. He emigrated to the U.S. with his mother Annie Mary Dover Poole, older sister Norma Ruby Poole and younger brother Charles Robert Poole in 1910, arriving August 20, to join his father William Henry Poole who was employed as a professional landscape gardener in various locations around Cleveland, Ohio. He died May 10, 1989 in Willoughby, Ohio.--Preface.
