Historical NoteThe Tuesday Study Club was organized in 1914 by a group of Catholic women, most of whom were members of St. Agnes Church, Euclid Avenue at East Seventy-ninth Street in Cleveland, Ohio. The purpose of the club was to study and discuss scholarly topics and to provide an annual, partial scholarship for a deserving young woman to attend a local Catholic women's college. Monthly programs included discussions of fine arts, literature, current events, and religion, with presentations by members and invited guests.
