A West Side Irish social and athletic organization, it first sponsored an Irish rules football team, and later, a soccer team. Social activities, with particular emphasis on Irish holidays and themes, were organized by the club. The club also served as a fraternal and mutual aid society to its members, through its Sick and Welfare Committee. In 1933, the name of the club was changed to the Gaelic Club. It shared quarters with the West Side Irish Club at the Irish American Hall at West 64th Street and Detroit Avenue.
