Originally issued in parts, monthly 1835-1860, with intermissions (1843-46? 1851-53?) each part with 4 views, 12 parts with 47 or 48 plates forming a volume. Continued after vol. XXI (1860) as Meyer's Universum für 1861-[1863] the serial numbering of the volumes being discontinued, 20 parts (regular instead of oblong quarto) with 4 views each, forming a volume per year. There is also an octavo edition, v. 1-16 ([1.]-3. folge, and 4. folge, 1. bd.) 1859-1864, and there are editions in English and other languages.
L.C. has v. 1-18 only, and p. 63-138 of v.20, which are bound at end of v. 17; the volumes, except 4, 8, 13, 14 and 15, have each its separate "Inhaltsverzeichniss" at end.
