Summary NoteSummary: This title was begun by Martin L. Lewis. The management soon changed to Banes & Lewis. By July, 1824, Evan Banes was sole publisher. The paper merged in May, 1825 with the Urbana news-letter (non-extant?), to form: Urbana news-letter and Mad River courant (with new numbering). With the Feb. 5, 1826 issue, the title Mad-River courant resumed again with Lewis publishing and a continuation of the old numbering.
