General NoteFirst edition, comprising events from 1817 to January 1819, published simultaneously, with slight changes, by R. Bentley, London, under title "Narrative of a residence at the court of London". The 2d edition, revised and enlarged, was published the same year by Key and Biddle, Philadelphia, and reprinted (?) by R. Bentley in London (cf. Sabin, Bibl. amer., and preface to 3d ed.) The 3d edition appeared under title: Residence at the court of London ... 3d ed. Edited, with occasional notes by the author's sons, Benjamin Rush ... Also, Recollections of the Court of Louis Philippe, and the French Revolution of 1848, by the same author ... London, Hamilton, Adams & Co.; Philadelphia, J.B. Lippincott & Co., 1872.
A second series was published in 1845 by Lea & Blanchard, Philadelphia, under title "Memoranda of a residence at the court of London, comprising incidents official and personal from 1819 to 1825. Including negotiations on the Oregon question, and other unsettled questions between the United States and Great Britain"; also in London by R. Bentley (in 2 vols.) with title slightly changed. The 2d edition of this series appeared in London, R. Bentley, 1873, under title: The court of London from 1819 to 1825.
