| General Note | Plummer Hall, the property of the Salem Athenæum, housed the libraries of the Athenæum, Essex Institute, Essex South District Medical Society, and Essex Agricultural Society. It was sold by the Athenæum in 1905 to the Essex Institute and a new "Plummer Hall" built by the Athenæum was dedicated in 1907.
