TitleLake Erie and Ohio river canal / Letter from the secretary of war transmitting a letter from the Chief of Engineers, United States Army, dated January 23, 1939, submitting a report, together with accompanying papers and illustrations, on a preliminary examination and survey of "The Miami and erie canal, Ohio, including a branch canal connecting the Miami and Erie canal with lake Michigan and such other routes between lake Erie and the Ohio river as may be considered practicable by the chief of engineers, with a view to securing a channel 12 feet in depth with suitable widths, or such other dimensions as may be considered practicable, including any recommendation for cooperation on the part of local interests," and "Waterway from a point at or near Erie harbor, Pa., by way of French creek and the Allegheny river, to the Ohio river," authorized by the river and harbor acts approved March 2, 1919, and September 22, 1922.
