	Abstract:	Flora T. Laughlin (b. 1854) was the wife of Reverend Edmund G. Laughlin, pastor of the Miles Avenue Disciple Church in Cleveland, Ohio. The Laughlins resided in Cleveland from 1892-1908. The collection consists of a diary for the year 1892. The entries detail Mrs. Laughlin's daily activities as a minister's wife and record her purchases.

	Abstract:	Sarah Gaylord Newberry (b. 1823) was the daughter of Erastus Gaylord, a Cleveland, Ohio, druggist, and Lucetta Cleaveland Gaylord. She married Dr. John S. Newberry, a physician and well-known geologist, in 1848. The collection consists of a diary of a voyage to Europe in 1849-1850.

3	Title:	"Myrtle L." Travel Journal

	Abstract:	Myrtle L. and her friend, Carrie E., were travelers from Cleveland, Ohio, on a sightseeing trip by steamer to Buffalo, New York, and then by train across the state to New York City. During their train ride, they stayed in towns and cities along the way, including Albany, Poughkeepsie, and Tarrytown. After visiting New York City, they traveled to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The collection consists of a one volume journal and loose materials removed from the journal, kept by Myrtle L., a young woman whose surname is not recorded. The journal contains descriptions in detail of the sights and events of the journey, the young men they met, shopping excursions, friends and fellow Clevelanders they saw; and documents expenses incurred on the trip. Includes a description of the interior of the Rockefeller mansion in New York and an account of their visit there. The diarist also writes of her personal interests and of her impressions of the people and places she encountered.

	Abstract:	Laura Barrett lived at 1314 West 115th Street in Cleveland, Ohio, during the Great Depression and World War II. She worked as a cook and house mother for the Phi Delta Theta fraternity house at Western Reserve University during the school year in the early 1930s and then worked as a cook and housekeeper at Rose-Mary Center in Euclid, Ohio, later in the 1930s and 1940s. The collection consists of thirteen diaries and one financial ledger book.

	Abstract:	Frank A. Scott (1873-1949) was a Cleveland, Ohio, businessman and civic leader who was chairman of the Munitions Standards Board of the Council of National Defense and first chairman of the War Industries Board during World War I, as well as chairman of the board of Warner & Swasey Company. The collection consists of correspondence, biographical materials, diaries, personal mementos, speech texts, scrapbooks, newspaper clippings, manuscripts, and the diaries of his second wife, Faith Alice Fraser Scott, and her sister, Grace Fraser Waugh. The collection is useful for understanding Scott's personal and business life, including his activities at Warner and Swasey and his work as an administrator at the War Dept. during World War I. Included among the correspondents are Samuel Mather, Theodore Burton, Newton D. Baker, Francis F. Prentiss, and Ambrose Swasey.
