1Title:  Hoadley and Hickox Family Papers

 Dates:  1792-1926 
 Abstract:  The Hickox and Hoadley families were among the first settlers of Middleburg Township, Ohio (now Middleburg Heights, a suburb of Cleveland). Jared and Rachel Merrill Hickox came from Connecticut in 1809. Lemuel Hoadley came from New York in 1807. The collection consists of deeds, quit claims, a survey, a probate settlement, an order for a sheriff's sale, a copy of a lease, a copy of a will, a deed of trust, account books, certificates, correspondence, genealogies, reminiscences and a clipping relating to the Hoadley and Hickox families and to the Wilder, Vaughn, Baker, Osborn, and Parker branches of these families.

 Abstract:  William Hendry (1807-1894) was a prominent citizen of Harpersfield, Ohio, until 1866 when he moved to Madison, Ohio. He was an abolitionist and a member of the Republican Party. While in Harpersfield, he served two terms as sheriff of Ashtabula County. Hendry also took pains to record the history of his family for his children. His father, David Hendry, had settled in Ashtabula County in 1806. His son, Francis, was a Civil War soldier. The collection consists of family histories for the Hendry family and the related families of Mirriam and Osborn, correspondence, a deed, an epitaph for David Hendry, a petition and Civil War military papers of Francis Hendry, a DAR application, and a will.

 Abstract:  Edith Rennison (born 1908) was the descendant of William Adams of Connecticut, whose son John migrated to the Western Reserve in 1810 and settled near Columbia (Lorain County), of Thomas Osborn, who settled in Columbia Station (Lorain County) prior to 1812, and of William Rennison who came to Olmsted Falls, Ohio in 1876. The collection consists of family genealogies and historical anecdotes of the Adams, Osborn and Rennison families. Also included are miscellaneous family deeds.
