 Abstract:  Ephraim W. Cleveland served as a senior flight instructor in the United States Army Signal Corps during World War I. After the war, he continued in aviation as a pilot. In 1927, he joined the Cleveland Pneumatic Tool Company of Cleveland, Ohio, as a sales representative, later becoming vice president. He was deeply involved in the National Air Races held in Cleveland, Ohio, serving as a starter or judge. He, his wife Lucille, and his secretary Anna Belle Elmslie were killed in a plane crash in 1952. The collection consists of images of Ephraim W. "Pops" Cleveland, his wife Lucille, other family members, business associates, and aviation colleagues. Also included are views of the Cleveland residence, the Cleveland Pneumatic Tool Company, aircraft, a fishing trip, an anniversary celebration, and the crash site of Cleveland's airplane.
