 Abstract:  Asa Dearborn Lord (1816-1875) was an educator and editor, of Ohio. He served as principal of the Western Reserve Teachers' Seminary (1839-1847), Superintendent of Public Schools in Columbus, Ohio (1848-1856), and director of the Institution for the Blind in Columbus (1856-1858). The collection consists of letters to Lord and speeches by him, relating to his activities as an educator, his editorship of educational journals, and efforts in establishing teachers' institutes in Ohio. Correspondents include Ira Mayhew, John D. Philbrick, and Albert Picket, Sr.
