 Abstract:  Edna and Isadore Silverman were a Jewish couple of Cleveland, Ohio. Edith was a member of the girls' social club, Phi Delis, in the 1930s. The club often participated in social activities with a Jewish boys' club, the Copains. They would have outings in various locales through the Cleveland area. Her husband, Isadore Silverman, served in the 470th Anti-Aircraft Battalion, Sept. 1943-Jan. 1946. He was trained at Camp Callan in California, 1943-1944, and was later stationed in New Guinea and Panay, 1944-1945. the collection consists of photographs, letters, telegrams, and newspaper clippings. The collection includes numerous portraits of Edith Silverman's "Phi Deli" outings (ca. 1930s) and portraits of Isadore Silverman's experiences in the United States and Asia (ca. World War II).
