 Abstract:  German American Resettlement Services, Inc. was founded in 1952 in Cleveland, Ohio, to provide food, shelter, clothing, and employment and immigration services to eastern European (territorial) Germans displaced by World War II. The collection consists of minutes of the German American Resettlement Services and its predecessor, Lutheran Relief for Transylvanian Saxons, and articles of incorporation, a constitution, and membership lists of the GARS.

 Abstract:  The Nationalities Services Center is a Cleveland, Ohio, social service agency for immigrants. It was formed in 1953 by the merger of the International Institute of the Cleveland Young Women's Christian Association (YWCA, est. 1916) and the Citizens Bureau of Cleveland (est. 1924). Services include employment services, immigration counseling, nationality clubs, language and citizenship classes, and translation services. The collection consists of correspondence, minutes, bills, resolutions, dossiers, publications, notes, certificates, case files, and miscellaneous materials relating to the NSC and its predecessor agencies.

 Abstract:  Jason D. Rich was born in Cleveland, Ohio. He graduated from Cornell University in 1929, and earned a master's degree in social work administration from the Western Reserve University School of Applied Social Sciences. He then joined the staff as a social worker at the Council Educational Alliance settlement house in Cleveland, working there throughout the 1930s. After several years in New York, where he continued in social work, he returned to Cleveland and until his retirement worked at the Jewish Vocational Service as a social worker. The collection consists of correspondence, newspaper clippings, newsletters, reports and program material relating to Rich's employment at the Council Educational Alliance and general material about social work.
