It was first called the Consumer Education and Protective Association, but changed its name to the Consumer Action Movement after its 1975 merger with Citizen Action. In 1976 it reorganized itself into the Cleveland Consumer Action, Inc. and set up the Cleveland Consumer Action Foundation. The collection consists of articles of incorporation, by-laws, codes of regulations, board of trustee minutes, correspondence, financial records, complaint records, and papers relating to the organization's publications.
