Her sister Deborah and mother Miriam also survived the Holocaust. Slodov used art therapy as a way to grieve for other family members she lost, especially her father. Slodov received her MA in Art Therapy from Ursuline College in 1992 and participated in and won many art contests in the Cleveland and Akron areas. The collection consists of documents related to the history of her family in Poland and their emigration to the United States.
