The collection consists of correspondence, writings, speeches, notes on early Cleveland, Ohio, schools; newspaper clippings, scrapbook, and other papers concerning Miss Guilford's activities as a teacher at the Cleveland Female Seminary and the Cleveland Academy, and her interest in the temperance movement. Includes secretary's book (1882-1885) of the Young Ladies Temperance League and minutes and newspaper clippings (1885-1880) concerning the Young Ladies League for Temperance Education, Cleveland.
