It was an auxiliary of the Woman's Christian Temperance Union of Ohio. In 1886 it changed its name to the Non-Partisan Woman's Christian Temperance Union. In 1933 it became the Woman's Philanthropic Union. It was also involved in many civic and charitable activities.
