| Abstract: | The Ohio Trappers Association was organized to preserve trapping, promote the fur industry in Ohio, and conserve the state's natural fur resources. The group's name was changed temporarily in the 1970s to the Ohio Fur Harvesters when campaigns to ban fur trapping in the state became popular and, over the years, the group was also known as the Ohio State Trappers Association. The collection consists of administrative files, bulletins, anti-trapping campaign materials, and clippings relating to the association, hunting and trapping in Ohio, conservation of wildlife resources, and the anti-trapping legislative campaigns of the 1970s. | |
