Rosenthal (1906-1979) was a Cleveland, Ohio-born Rabbi of Congregation B'nai Jeshurun (Temple on the Heights). Ordained in 1932, he lead the congregation from 1933 to 1976 and was active in many civic and religious organizations, including the Cleveland Mayor's Committee to Combat Juvenile Delinquency, the Cleveland Crime Commission, the Wilberforce University Foundation, the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) and the National Conference of Christians and Jews.
