 Abstract:  Myrta, Emma and Willie L. Parsons studied at the Burton Academy in the 1860s and at Hiram College in the 1880s and 1890s. Adelaide G. Frost also studied at Hiram College and later became a missionary in India. The collection consists of copybooks, report cards, tuition receipts, examination papers, compositions, poetry and autograph booklets, and other mementos documenting the personal and academic activities of Myrta, Emma, and Willie L. Parsons and other family members, and letters from Adelaide Frost.

 Abstract:  Samuel Holden (1735-1789) was a Connecticut lawyer, legislator and militia colonel who became a general and commander of the 6th Connecticut Regiment of the Continental Army during the Revolutionary War. The collection consists of correspondence, enlistment papers, military appointments, orders, commissaries' accounts, supply orders, commissions, surveys of Western Reserve lands, accounts, receipts, legal papers, an index, a list of goods for Indian trade, and an orderly book.

 Abstract:  Shirley R. Parsons compiled genealogical materials on the John Parsons family of Maine, whose members migrated to Ohio, Illinois, Wisconsin, Kentucky and Missouri. The collection consists of typed copies of letters written 1828-1904 by family members and genealogical notes on the Parsons family and the related Robinson and Stevens families. The collection is valuable for those interested in the westward migration from Maine during the first half of the 19th century and also includes details of pioneer life in Lancaster, Ohio and various parts of Illinois, Wisconsin, Kentucky and Missouri.
