 Abstract:  David Agnew was co-owner and operator of several steel and iron mills and furnaces in Pennsylvania, Western Virginia, Ohio and Maryland. The collection consists of a history of the man; correspondence of Agnew and his brother John, 1847-1895; material related to financial and business matters; and parts of two scrap books. Also included are ledger sheets given to Charles Agnew, the donor, from the Cornwall Furnace of Cornwall, Pennsylvania, as well as a newspaper clipping concerning the furnace.

 Abstract:  The Cleveland Foundation was the first community trust in the United States. It was organized in Cleveland, Ohio in 1914 by Frederick J. Goff and the Board of Directors of the Cleveland Trust Company. It has provided funds for educational and artistic development and for humanitarian purposes such as housing and aid to children and the handicapped. The collection consists of annual reports, pamphlets and minutes of the Foundation, and grant files of recipient organizations, containing correspondence, surveys, photographs, grant proposals, pamphlets and booklets. Also included are files on individuals who had contact with the Foundation.

 Abstract:  Henry Lee Moon was public relations director of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) at its New York headquarters (1948-1960). Mollie Lewis Moon, his wife, was a social worker, public relations executive, founder and chairman of the National Urban League Guild (1942-1962), and trustee and secretary of the National Urban League (1955-1962). Roddy K. Moon (1868-1952) was an organizer of the Cleveland chapter of the NAACP. The collection consists of newspaper and magazine articles, photographs, book reviews, speeches, press releases and reports relating to Henry and Mollie Lewis Moon, and letters, photographs, accounts, receipts, anniversary cards, garden club programs, and clippings relating to the gardening interests of Mr. and Mrs. Roddy K. Moon and to other members of the Moon family.

 Abstract:  Youth Services was a Cleveland, Ohio, social service agency which evolved from a charity organization for women and girls, the Women's Protective Association (est. 1916). In 1930 it changed its name to the Girls' Bureau of Cleveland. In 1943 the Bureau expanded its services to include boys, and became the Youth Bureau of Cleveland - Girls' and Boys' Service. In 1958 it became Youth Service. Its main focus became casework and temporary housing for youths with family problems. In 1972 it merged into the Center for Human Services. The collection consists of minutes, reports, financial documents, correspondence, histories of the agency, its constitution, amendments, newspaper clippings, publications, scrapbooks, and photographs.

 Abstract:  The League for Human Rights was organized in 1933, by leaders of the Cleveland, Ohio, Jewish community, to promote a boycott of Nazi-produced goods and to disseminate accurate information about the Nazi regime. It later began to combat anti-Semitic and pro-Nazi activities in Cleveland and to investigate the individuals and organizations behind such activities. It was dissolved in 1946. The collection consists of correspondence, publications, clippings, minutes, news releases, and investigatory dossiers.

It was established before World War I. It was dissolved during both world wars but reorganized after they ended. During the 1930s, pro-Nazi elements tried unsuccessfully to gain control of it. The collection consists of one bound volume of minutes (October 2, 1931-May 9, 1940).

 Abstract:  John Kazimierz Gallka (1894-1968) was a Polish immigrant to Cleveland, Ohio, who joined the Police Department and wrote articles for the Polish language daily newspaper, Wiadomosci Codzienne. He also fought with the Polish Volunteer Army in World War I. The collection consists of journals which contain copies of Gallka's newspaper articles and a long autobiographical sketch with information about Polish American life in Cleveland.

He also edited the Serbian paper Srbobran and was involved in the Serbian Orthodox Church. The collection consists of correspondence, including correspondence with Stoyan Pribichevich and correspondence concerning fund raising for a church in Glina, Yugoslavia. Also included are certificates, miscellaneous writings, and listings and publications pertaining to St. Sava Serbian Orthodox Church.

 Abstract:  Miles Park Presbyterian Church was established in 1832 as the First Congregational Church of Newburgh, Ohio. It was chartered in 1842 as the First Presbyterian Church of Newburgh. By 1873 Newburgh was annexed to Cleveland and the Church was commonly known as Miles Park Presbyterian Church. It continued to be known by this name, despite a 1925 act to rename it the John M. Davidson Memorial Presbyterian Church Society. The collection consists of minutes, financial records, correspondence, the constitution, deeds, by-laws, lease agreements, baptism applications, the church register (1842-1955), marriage licenses, certificates of dismission and reception, building fund records, church newspapers, bulletins, and miscellaneous material; and a will and estate papers of John M. Davidson.

 Abstract:  Frank Sindelar (1861-1929) was a Czech immigrant to Cleveland, Ohio. During World War I he worked with the National Union of Czech Catholics in Chicago for the freedom of Czechoslovakia and corresponded with Fr. Oldrich Zlamal concerning efforts to unite Cleveland Czechs behind the movement. After the war he edited a Cleveland daily Czech paper, the American, and resumed his church work at Our Lady of Lourdes Church. The collection consists of correspondence, postcards, newspaper clippings, and publications.

 Abstract:  Morris Ullman (1835-1908) was a German Jew who emigrated to the United States in 1849. With his brother Emanuel and his cousin Leopold Einstein, he founded the Ullman, Einstein Company, a liquor business in Cleveland, Ohio. When it was dissolved in 1919, his son Monroe and grandson Rufus founded the Ullman and Einstein Realty Company. Rufus had previously served with the United States Army in World War I. The collection consists of correspondence, legal and financial papers, distillery formula books, receipts, certificates, newspaper clippings, and scrapbooks.

Its purpose has always been to coordinate the educational, civic and welfare activities of women's clubs in the Cleveland area.
