He turned the business over to his son, Raymond, during the 1920s. Michael Kniola was also active in church and community affairs and organizations such as the Polish Falcons Alliance of America, Nest 141, and local Republican party politics. He also served as agent and executor for Cleveland Poles and their relatives in Poland. With the merger of the German Evangelical and German Reformed denominations the church became St. Paul's Evangelical and Reformed Church. Since the 1961 merger with the Congregational Christian Church the denomination has been known as St. Paul's United Church of Christ. Laura took a teaching job in Decatur in 1884. That October she married Horace Andrews and moved to Norwalk, Ohio. Shortly before 1900 they moved to Cleveland, Ohio, where Horace practiced law. The collection consists of a copy of a handwritten diary with typed transcripts inserted following their corresponding pages. The National Invalid Collection was a local organization affiliated with the Legion whose purpose was to care for wounded and disabled soldiers in Cleveland, Ohio. Reverend Oldrich Zlamal was a prominent member. The collection consists of minutes, special minutes from a 1929 meeting in Detroit, a volunteer ledger from the campaign of 1917, an annual report (1926), financial ledgers, cashiers books, account books, copies of the official newspaper Czechoslovensky Legionar, correspondence, and other materials. The collection consists of 500 prescriptions for medication, each signed by a physician, numbered, and marked "paid." Some also have the patient's name and others, particularly those from Dr. Henry Muller, are in German. Miller was a novelist and an author of autobiographical reminiscences, and wrote articles published in the Cleveland Jewish News. He married Charles Anna (Annie) Smith ca. 1859 and they had two children, Anna Louise and William. In 1861 Samuel joined the 72nd Regiment of Pennsylvania Volunteers (Baxter's Gunners) and served as quartermaster until he died in service at Harper's Ferry, Virginia, on October 9, 1862. The collection consists of letters from Samuel K. Maguire to Annie Smith Maguire (1857-1862). The letters of 1861-1862 contain accounts of army life and of battles, including Sharpsburg and Harpers Ferry.
