| Abstract: | The Near West Side Development Association was a citizen's group formed in 1963 to promote communication and activities between urban planners in the City of Cleveland's Urban Renewal Department and residents of Cleveland, Ohio's near west side. The Association prepared reports, made recommendations, and assisted in planning of urban development. Representatives of over twenty business, banking, educational, religious, charitable, and medical organizations participated in the Association. The collection consists of correspondence, articles of association, minutes of trustee meetings, treasurer's reports and invoices, membership lists, director's reports, and newspaper clippings, relating to the association while Thomas J. Miller served as its executive director, and reflecting its interest in land use, schools, traffic problems, street relocations, and housing. | |
