With his brother Emanuel and his cousin Leopold Einstein, he founded the Ullman, Einstein Company, a liquor business in Cleveland, Ohio. When it was dissolved in 1919, his son Monroe and grandson Rufus founded the Ullman and Einstein Realty Company. Rufus had previously served with the United States Army in World War I.
