 Abstract:  The collection includes records of the Coffinberry and Morgan families and allied families of Hampson, Duane, DuBarry, and Chevalier. Members of these families were at the forefront of events in American, Ohio and Cleveland history, from before the Revolutionary War until the Reconstruction period and beyond. The collection consists of correspondence, journals, other manuscript materials, plats, maps, pamphlets, political broadsides, speeches, newspaper clippings, biographical and genealogical items, engravings, campaign ribbons, and other family memorabilia.

 Abstract:  The Hanna Family is an Ohio family (New Lisbon and Cleveland) whose members included Senator Marcus A. Hanna and businessman Leonard C. Hanna. The collection consists of correspondence, legal documents, charts, deeds, notes, wills, photos, and magazine and newspaper clippings containing genealogical data relating primarily to members of the Hanna family in Cleveland and Ohio, especially to Robert, Benjamin, and Leonard Hanna. Includes 7 v. of congratulatory messages sent to Marcus A. Hanna after successful campaigns of the Republican Party in which Hanna played a major role.

 Abstract:  The Vallandigham family descended from Michael Van Landegham who emigrated from French Flanders to Virginia. Clement Vallandigham married Rebecca Laird in 1807 and moved to New Lisbon, Ohio. The Vallandigham and Laird families had members in Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Virginia. Most prominent among them was Clement Laird Vallandigham, a lawyer, Democratic politician, congressman from Ohio, and spokesman of Northerners opposing the Civil War, and John Laird, a lawyer and Ohio senator. The collection consists of correspondence, speeches, writings, financial documents, legal documents, and miscellany of members of the Laird, Vallandigham and Robertson families, including Clement, Clement L., Elizabeth, George, James L., Mary E., and Rebecca Vallandigham, and John Laird.
