	Abstract:	Franklin Jeremiah Drake (1846-1929) was a United States naval officer who served fifty-two years in the U.S. Navy, retiring as a rear admiral. He engineered the first survey of the Isthmus of Panama for the Panama Canal in 1896 and assisted in charting the Bering Sea after the U.S. acquired Alaska from Russia. At one time he served on the U.S.S. Constitution, "Old Ironsides". The collection consists of biographical sketch, correspondence, certificates of membership in various organizations, a speech given at a G.A.R meeting, notes from a cruise of the Pacific Ocean, including a journal kept by Mrs. Drake, some military papers, newspaper clippings, and some diplomas of Nellie Pierson, whose connection to Drake has not been established.

	Abstract:	The collection consists of Dudley Baldwin's accounts with P.M. Weddell & Company and Baldwin & Spangler of Cleveland, Ohio, and four pages of diary-like entries made during a voyage from San Francisco to New York on the Golden Eagle.

	Abstract:	F. Missler was a passenger agent operating out of Bremen, Germany and Budapest, Hungary. He arranged travel and transferred funds to America during the late nineteenth and early twentieth century. The collection consists of papers relating to travel arrangements, including correspondence and passports for several families. The collection is useful to those interested in travel on ocean liners during the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. It also pertains to Hungarian immigration.

	Abstract:	George H. Swain was a resident of Nantucket, Massachusetts, who was probably a crew member on the ships listed. Volumes include remarks recorded while on board the Lexington (on the Pacific and Indian Oceans), the schooner Secreto, and the bark United States, all of which were whaling vessels.
