Izant's series, "Ohio scenes and citizens", appeared weekly in the Sunday Plain Dealer, 1944-1969, and led to her book of the same title. She also wrote "This is Ohio", a collection of anecdotes for each of Ohio's counties, "John D. Rockefeller: the Cleveland years", and "Hudson's heritage", a history of Hudson, Ohio. | | | Creator: | Hardman, Anson | | | Dates: | 1864-1965 | | | Abstract: | Anson Hardman was the general advertising manager of Ohio Bell Telephone Company, 1924-1951. Hardman initiated many advertising campaigns which were adopted by other utilities and were recognized by the advertising industry. Hardman directed Ohio Bell's weekly radio program, the "Ohio Story", contributing historical research and script composition as well as directing the show. Hardman began his own public relations and advertising company, Anson F. Hardman and Associates, in 1951. He also served in various editorial and advertising capacities for the periodical Inside Ohio. The collection consists of scripts and script drafts, administrative papers, correspondence, story ideas and suggestions, research articles, subject lists, broadcast material, clippings, music scores, photographs, and biographical information relating to the activities of Anson Hardman. The collection pertains largely to the development of radio programing, from original idea to final casting, broadcast, and publicity.
