| Abstract: | The Swiss Turner was a gymnastic society founded in Cleveland, Ohio, in 1891 as the Schweizer Turn Verein, by Swiss immigrants. The group practiced at various locations until the united Swiss societies purchased a hall at 2710 Walton Avenue in 1919. The Swiss Turners of Cleveland participated in every national competition sponsored by the Swiss American Gymnastic Association through 1973. The group also hosted national competitions in 1969 and 1973. The group still met as of 1995. The collection consists of minutes, financial information, correspondence, and membership information. | ||
