 Abstract:  The collection consists of views of aircraft published by the Aeroplane Photo Supply Company of Toronto, Canada. The collection also includes photographs taken by George Baine of aviation events in and around the Cleveland, Ohio area. Images of aviation related events, aircraft trading cards, and aircraft recognition cards are also part of the collection, as are photographs of the National Air Races of 1949 held in Cleveland, Ohio, and the Cleveland National Air Shows from the 1960s and 1970s.

2Title:  Ephraim W. "Pops" Cleveland Photographs

 Abstract:  Ephraim W. Cleveland served as a senior flight instructor in the United States Army Signal Corps during World War I. After the war, he continued in aviation as a pilot. In 1927, he joined the Cleveland Pneumatic Tool Company of Cleveland, Ohio, as a sales representative, later becoming vice president. He was deeply involved in the National Air Races held in Cleveland, Ohio, serving as a starter or judge. He, his wife Lucille, and his secretary Anna Belle Elmslie were killed in a plane crash in 1952. The collection consists of images of Ephraim W. "Pops" Cleveland, his wife Lucille, other family members, business associates, and aviation colleagues. Also included are views of the Cleveland residence, the Cleveland Pneumatic Tool Company, aircraft, a fishing trip, an anniversary celebration, and the crash site of Cleveland's airplane.

 Abstract:  William N. Metzger (1919-1941) was a master model builder and aviation enthusiast. His collection of fine scale models of 1930s racing aircraft are preserved in the collections of the Western Reserve Historical Society's Crawford Auto-Aviation Collection in Cleveland, Ohio. The collection consists of portraits of aviation personalities and views of aircraft, most of which relate to the National Air Races held in Cleveland, Ohio, during the 1930s. Aviation personalities depicted include Hugo Eckener, Lee Miles, Milo Burcham, Benny Howard, Frank Hawks, Hugh Perry, John Livingston, Glenn Martin, Abbie Dill, James Doolittle, Julian Griffin, James Piersol, Al Williams, Ernest J. King, Eddie Rickenbacker, Roscoe Turner, Lowell Thomas, Jack Wright, and Charles Grant. Aircraft pictured includes the Ford Trimotor, the Lockheed Gamma, and the Laird-Turner Special.
