 Abstract:  The Cleveland Interfaith Housing Corporation was established in 1966, by representatives of several local Protestant denominations, to provide adequate housing for needy minorities in Cleveland, Ohio. The collection consists of articles of incorporation, by-laws, minutes, correspondence, maps, clippings, resolutions, proposals, and reports. Includes agreements, minutes, by-laws, and correspondence of the West Central Area Development Corporation.

 Abstract:  Gordon H. Simpson (1892-1955) was a Canadian-born descendant of Maryland slaves. In 1928 he became Industrial Secretary of the Negro Welfare Association in St. Louis, Missouri (now the Urban League). In 1936 he became project manager for the Cleveland Metropolitan Housing Authority. In 1938 he was the first Manager of Outhwaite in Cleveland, Ohio, the second public housing development in the United States. The collection consists of letters of the Simpson family (1853-1863) concerning family affairs, and papers of Gordon H. Simpson, including certificates, articles about race relations, and newspaper clippings about Simpson and Outhwaite Homes.

 Abstract:  Joseph Weinberg (1890-1977) was a Cleveland, Ohio, architect who also served on the faculty of Western Reserve University and John Huntington Polytechnic Institute. He was active in many architectural societies and helped design Lakeview Terrace, a noted public housing development in Cleveland, Ohio. The collection consists of correspondence, greeting cards, school assignments, reports, certificates, programs, bulletins, materials on Harvard Class of 1912 reunions and architects' conventions, scrapbooks of newspaper clippings, and designs, drawings, blueprints and sketches by Weinberg.
