Lambert Company was the only business outside of New York that traded natural rubber. The automobile and tire industries in Akron enabled the Company to maintain its place in a market prone to extreme fluctuation through the mid-1990's. E.P. Lambert retired as the head of the company in 1963, passing leadership to his son, Donald M. Lambert. Donald Lambert closed the company in 1997. The company has been assimilated by Centrobank of Vienna under the name Centrotrade Rubber USA.
