 Abstract:  Marius Racine Robinson (1806-1878) was a Presbyterian clergyman and editor of the Anti-Slavery Bugle (Salem, Ohio). The collection consists of correspondence (1836-1839) of Robinson with his wife, Emily; lectures and speeches (1830-1865), notes, journal, newspaper clippings, and biographical material on Robinson. Relates to the American Anti-Slavery Society in Ohio for which Robinson was lecturer, the American Colonization Society, the Anti-Slavery Society of Lane Seminary, Cincinnati, Ohio, abolitionism, emancipation, slavery, and theological subjects.

 Abstract:  Mary Lukens Gilbert was an abolitionist and teacher in a Negro school who resided in Wilmington, and later, Smithfield, Ohio. Her brother, Barclay Gilbert, lived in La Porte, Indiana. The collection consists of correspondence, primarily from her brother Barclay Gilbert, and proceedings of a meeting of anti-slavery advocates held in Boston, January 9, 1843, which concerned The Liberator.
