 Abstract:  Alexander Varion (1841 or 1842-1864) was a Union Army officer who served as a corporal, and later 1st Lieutenant, in Company D, 1st Regiment, Ohio Volunteer Infantry during the American Civil War. The collection consists of letters from Varian to his family while serving with the 1st Regiment, Ohio Volunteer Infantry, in Kentucky, Tennessee, and Georgia during the Civil War.
