 Notes:  "Licensed June 22. 1664. Roger L'Estrange."--Verso of t.-p. The relation is signed: Anthony Long. William Hilton. Peter Fabian. Winsor (Nar. and crit. hist., 1887, v. 5, p. 337) says that this Hilton would seem to be William Hilton of Massachusetts (d. 1675) "who had already explored parts of this country." This expedition first visited the neighborhood of Port Royal, then sailed northeastward along the South Carolina coast, concluding with a careful exploration of Cape Fear River.

Quaritch (General catalogue, v. 5, p. 2991-2) says that John Farrer (or Ferrar) who is referred to in the preface, supplied Williams with the material for this work.
