	Abstract:	The Sohl Family is a Cleveland, Ohio, family of German-Americans, descended from Johann Georg Sohl (anglicized to George Sohl) who settled in Cleveland in 1840. His son, Gustav, married Mary Goodrich, whose father, George Elliott Goodrich, served in the 124th Ohio Volunteer Infantry during the American Civil War and was one of the soldiers assigned to escort the body of President Lincoln from Washington to Illinois. His grandson, Ralph William Sohl, was an engineer for a tire and rubber company. The collection consists of George Sohl's passport and related papers, his will, Sohl family correspondence, deeds and other records relating to property in Egg Harbor, N.J., cemetery lot purchase records, birth and death certificates for Ralph William Sohl, and Goodrich family papers, including a marriage certificate, civil war correspondence, and a copy of the order for troops to accompany Lincoln's body to Illinois. Included in the correspondence is a letter from George Goodrich expressing his feelings about the assassination of Lincoln.

Her father, Joseph Rudolph, was a soldier in Company A, 23rd Regiment, Ohio Volunteer Infantry, during the American Civil War. The collection consists of letters, a journal, genealogical data, and newspaper clippings of the Garfield and Rudolph families.

	Abstract:	George W. Landrum (1830-1863) was a Kentucky native who moved to Cincinnati, Ohio. During the American Civil War he served first in the 6th Ohio Infantry Regiment (the "Guthrie Gray" Regiment) and later as a 1st Lieutenant in the Signal Corps of the 2nd Ohio Infantry Regiment. He died at Chickamauga in September 1863. The collection consists primarily of typewritten transcripts of letters sent to Landrum's sister, Amanda Wilson (Mrs. Obed J. Wilson), containing descriptions of camp life and various military encounters in which Landrum took part during the Civil War, such as Chaplin Hills (Perryville, Kentucky.) and Stone River (Murfreesboro, Tennessee).

	Abstract:	Franz Sigel (1824-1902) was an Army officer and editor. He served as a general in the Union Army during the American Civil War. Includes unpublished narratives of Sigel's campaigns, a few personal letters, and others involving Sigel's enlistment of volunteers in St. Louis early in 1861.
