The collection consists of correspondence, membership lists, newsletters, a scrapbook, programs, and information concerning the group's organization and bylaws.

 Abstract:  The Polish Library Home was located on Kenilworth Avenue in the Cleveland, Ohio, Tremont neighborhood. It housed a large collection of Polish literature and served as a meeting place for Polish groups, including several lodges of the Polish National Alliance, a fraternal insurance organization which sought to preserve Polish culture and worked for the re-establishment of a free Poland. The home closed in 1984. The collection consists of minute books, dues books, and an account book of the home. Also included are minute books, ledger books, dues books, and insurance rolls of the Polish National Alliance, Groups 171, 229, 861 and 2584.

 Abstract:  The Slovenian Benefit Society Slovenija is an independent Slovene-American benefit society formed ca. 1895 in Cleveland, Ohio, by a splinter group from Marijn Spolek, the first Slovenian lodge in the city. It provided insurance and organized both the first Slovenian men's chorus (Zora) and a gymnastics group which developed into the Slovenian Sokol (Slovenski Sokol). The collection consists of bylaws, minute books, account books, membership books, a ledger book, and a dues book.

 Abstract:  The Princeton Alumni Association of Northern Ohio was founded in 1905 to promote the interests of Princeton University, the association aids in alumni solicitations, helps alumni maintain contact with the university, encourages prospective applicants, and sponsors performances of the Princeton Triangle Club in Cleveland. The collection consists of constitutions, minutes, membership lists, financial records, memoranda, correspondence, notices, publications, contracts, lists of students, statements and speeches from the university, university records, and news clippings. The collection is useful to those interested in the activities of college alumni clubs or the productions of the Princeton Triangle Club and includes some correspondence relating to the admission of women to the university in the 1960s.

 Abstract:  The Rotary Club of Cleveland, Ohio, is a chapter (f. 1910) of the national organization, devoted to community service activities, especially helping disabled children. The Cleveland chapter helped form the national and Ohio branches of the Society for Crippled Children, and by 1954 had donated $200,000 to the Society. In 1941, Cleveland Rotarians established the Cleveland Rotary Foundation which by 1953 had spent $150,000 on various projects and had a principal of $90,000. By 1980 it was still the second largest Rotary club in the world. The collection consists of histories, constitutions, minutes, a list of charter members, correspondence, announcements, publications, and national Rotary material.

 Abstract:  The Slovak Gymnastic Union Sokol was a national organization with at least three lodges in the Cleveland, Ohio, area. It encouraged physical fitness, singing, dancing and other cultural activities. With the large number of Slovak immigrants settling in Cleveland between 1870 and the early 1900s, cultural groups such as the gymnastic Sokol Union formed in Slovak neighborhoods. By the 1920s, at least three branches of the Sokol existed in Cleveland. By the 1960s, all the Cleveland lodges had merged into Lodge 260. CThe cllection consists of minutes, account and dues records, membership rolls, and miscellaneous club correspondence.

 Abstract:  The Kirtland Society of National Science was originally organized in 1845 by Jared P. Kirtland, John Lang Cassels, and Samuel St. John as the Cleveland Academy of Natural Sciences, Cleveland's first scientific organization. Renamed the Kirtland Society of Natural Science in 1869, this science society was organized with the aim of establishing a natural history museum. In 1876, it opened a museum in Case Hall on Cleveland's Public Square which contained the bird and mammal collection of William Case, the bird collection of R. K. Winslow, the entomology collection of John Fitzpatrick, and fish specimens from the collections of Jared P. Kirtland and Elisha Sterling. The museum continued to function until 1920, when the Cleveland Museum of Natural History was established and the various collections were transferred to it. The collection consists of minutes of meetings, notes on birds, drawings, newspaper clippings, and other papers. Among the early members were Theodatus Garlick, Jared P. Kirtland, B. A. Stanard, George A. Stanley, Elisha Sterling, and Rufus K. Winslow.
