| Abstract: | James Horton (1934-2005) was an employee of the Service Employees International Union (SEIU), Local 47, in Cleveland, Ohio. He helped the union organize workers in several Cleveland hospitals and nursing homes and served as a negotiator during contract bargaining negotiations. During his career with SEIU he served in many capacities including organizer, business agent, negotiator, vice-president, and president.
