| | | Creator: | Wright, Elizur | | | Dates: | 1822-1843 | | | Abstract: | Elizur Wright, Jr. (1804-1885) was an abolitionist, and professor of mathematics and natural philosophy at Western Reserve College (Hudson, Ohio). Wright took part in the anti-slavery movement before the Civil War. His father came from Canaan, Connecticut, to Tallmadge, Ohio, in 1810, where he founded the Tallmadge Academy. The collection consists of correspondence, autobiography, recollections, speeches, genealogical material, scrapbooks, and other papers, relating to education, geometry, mathematics, Sunday schools in Ohio, and Ohio pioneers.
