 Abstract:  Samuel S. Perry was a lawyer, mayor of Woodmere, Ohio, a suburb of Cleveland, and head of the Technical and Feasibility Department of the Hough Development Corporation. Perry was a Republican candidate for Cuyahoga County Commissioner in 1966. The collection consists of correspondence, speeches, reports and, especially, news clippings. The collection primarily concerns Perry's tenure as mayor of Woodmere, Ohio, focusing on building and zoning problems faced by the community, the role of blacks in local government and the effectiveness of black and white coalition politics.
