 Abstract:  Max Sandin was a Russian-Jewish conscientious objector who emigrated to the United States in 1910. He settled in Cleveland, Ohio, and became active in several anti-war organizations. The collection consists of correspondence, legal papers, clippings, reprints, annotated calendars, publications, and an autobiography, entitled "I Was Sentenced to Be Shot," which details Sandin's life and anti-war activities.
