Swidzinska was a free-lance journalist for Radio Free Europe. She came to the United States in 1961 where she studied and taught Slavic languages and literature, and continued to publish in Polish emigre journals throughout the United States, Canada, Great Britain, West Germany and France. In 1975 she retired to the Netherlands.
