 Abstract:  Elias Green was a Huron County, Ohio farmer. He married Mary Anne Shetton in 1844. Their son, Charles R. Green (1845-1915), fought in the American Civil War and also collected family papers. The collection consists of correspondence of members of the Green family (mostly to Elias Green concerning family matters), genealogical notes by Charles R. Green, receipts, wills, and deeds.

 Abstract:  Charles Ransley Green (1845-1915) was a soldier from Milan, Ohio, who served with the 101st Ohio Volunteer Infantry during the American Civil War. Afterwards he corresponded with members of his regiment and collected their recollections and biographical data. The collection consists of correspondence of members of the 101st Ohio Volunteer Infantry concerning their Civil War recollections, pension requests, and biographical sketches. Also included are letters from Green requesting biographical and military data, and letters from his cousins Isaac and Julia Haskins, and others.
