| Abstract: | The Cleveland Day Nursery Association was founded in 1882 by the Young Women's Christian Association (YWCA) and the Young Ladies Temperance League to provide day care and health services for children of working mothers in Cleveland, Ohio. Its members worked for legislation, standards and licensing to improve all local nurseries. The collection consists of photographs and albums relating to the Cleveland (Ohio) Day Nursery Association. Included are scenes of activities and facilities at Harkness Summer Camp, Wade Nursery, and Bingham Nursery. Also included are photographs of children inside and on the playground and participating in other day nursery activities, publicity photographs, and exteriors of buildings. | |
