Abstract: | The Jones Home of Children's Services was established in Cleveland, Ohio, in 1887 as a home for foster children and orphans and originally called the Jones Home for Friendless Children. It was donated by Carlos L. Jones who ran it with his wife. It has since come under the aegis of the United Way and presently houses emotionally disturbed children and children awaiting hearings in juvenile court. The collection consists of individual and group portraits of staff members and residents of the Jones Home. Views depict activities of the children from the home and of events held for the children. The majority of the photographs are from the 1940s and 1950s. Also included are photographs from the 1962 75th Anniversary of the Jones Home. | ||
