His parents resided in Bloomville, Ohio. William D. Royce was an inspector for the Cleveland Division of the American Protective League, which in 1919 became the Loyal American League. The collection consists of descriptive rolls and letters from Abner Royce to his parents, Mr. and Mrs. B.F. Royce; sketchbook of Henrietta L.
