| | | | Creator: | McIlrath Tavern | | | | Dates: | 1809-1846 | | | | Abstract: | The McIlrath Tavarn was a tavern and well-known hostelry and general store established in 1804 by Alexander McIlrath, and located on the northwest corner of Euclid and Superior in East Cleveland, Ohio. McIlrath's brother Abner opened a tavern at the same location in 1837, which distinguished itself as a local meeting place and important community center for many decades. People came from Doan's Corners and Euclid Township to listen to candidates and vote. It was torn down ca. 1890.
