 Abstract:  Nathaniel Spencer (1748-1825) was a farmer in Claridon, Geauga County, Ohio. He was formerly a resident of New Hartford, Connecticut. The collection consists of two diaries and a letter. The diaries contain meteorological data and farm activities recorded by Spencer.

 Abstract:  Moses Cleaveland (1754-1806) was a Connecticut lawyer, legislator and army officer who became the Director and agent for the Connecticut Land Company and agent for the Erie Land Company. He led its first surveying and exploring party into the Western Reserve in 1795 and founded the City of Cleveland, Ohio, in 1796. The collection consists of correspondence, land memorandums, journal abstracts, and military, financial and legal papers.

 Abstract:  Daniel Kerr was an early settler and Justice of the Peace of Mentor Township, Ohio. His son, Levi, was a trustee and incorporator of the Case School of Applied Sciences in Cleveland, and a cousin of its founder, Leonard Case, Jr. The collection consists of correspondence, court documents, financial materials, land agreements, a notebook, and miscellany.

 Abstract:  Leonard Sr., Leonard Jr., and William Case were prominent Cleveland, Ohio, philanthropists and railroad magnates in the 1800s. Leonard Sr was also an early settler of the area and William served as Mayor from 1850-1852. The collection consists of financial materials, receipts for the Heard and Son construction of the Case block, land agreements, files on the Ohio State Fair and Silas S. Stone, and miscellaneous materials found in the Case School accession.
