The Association merged with the International Photoengravers Union of North America in 1964 to form the Lithographers and Photoengravers International Union. Cleveland Local 6-L broadened its membership to include Akron workers. In 1972 the union merged with the International Brotherhood of Bookbinders to form the Graphic Arts International Union.
