Morley Papers. Morley, John C. http://norton.wrhs.org/collections/view?docId=ead/MS4459.xml John C. Morely was a Cleveland, Ohio, lawyer who served with the 192nd Tank Battalion of the United States Army during World War II. His unit was captured by the Japanese when Bataan fell in 1942 and Morley was confined in various Japanese prison camps on the Philippine Islands until Nov. 1944 when the prisoners were shipped to Japan. Morley died on this voyage, along with three-fourths of his fellow prisoners. The collection consists of biographical sketches, his diaries, correspondence, largely from his father, John E. Morley, certificates, military records, and newspaper clippings. The collection focuses on the conditions endured by American prisoners of war during World War II, including experiences on the "Bataan Death March", and the anxiety their families experienced while waiting for word on the fate of their loved ones. http://norton.wrhs.org/collections/view?docId=ead/MS4459.xml Wed, 01 Jan 2014 12:00:00 GMT Sacrifice at Chickamauga: a history of the 89th Ohio Volunteer Infantry Regiment.
